While I am working on Machine-B I usually have Machine-A opened through a Windows Remote Desktop… I noticed lately that while music was playing, if I close the Remote Desktop windows on Machine-B, then Roon would suddenly stop playback… On the Roon application I would see “Roon lost control of the audio device” message. Machine-A has only Roon Bridge installed… Machine-B has the Roon desktop application installed as I use this machine to control my listening sessions. A separate dedicated Roon ROCK device is my Roon Server. So, depending on how you are remoting in to your computer, this is likely not a violation of any EULA. by that logic, any rdp software used between two devices the person ownes, is fine.įor what it’s worth, the relevant phrasing in question in the post linked (which is quoting the EULA) seems to be, “unauthorized streaming or transmission of Game content from a third-party server to any device.” Thats a very important part, a point to point vpn used by RDP is NOT allowing a third party server to access any wow infomation.īlizz cannot evoke the ToS if someone uses steam in home streaming to play wow on a crappy laptop on their couch, they also can’t if someone used it through a VPN connection.
